Piezoelectric components made of ceramic piezoelectric materials can convert electrical signals to mechanical signals. Piezoelectric ceramic elements with a certain shape are mainly made by sintering PbTiO3 PbZrO3 system (PZT). Even the sintered body can obtain the piezoelectric properties of single crystals through polarization. The main uses of piezoelectric elements are spark plugs and resonators. Resonator plays the role of selectively passing through the radio wave filter of a specific frequency, and is an indispensable component of TV, radio and other tuning circuits.

Ceramic semiconductor materials Among ceramics, there are many semiconductors. The property that the resistance varies with temperature can be used for nonlinear resistance. The negative temperature coefficient nonlinear resistance (NTC nonlinear resistance) decreases with the increase of temperature, and has general semiconductor characteristics. The oxide ceramics of iron series metals, because of their chemical and thermal stability, can be used for nonlinear resistance and temperature control in a wide range. On the contrary, the elements called positive temperature coefficient thermistors (PTC thermistors) use semiconducting BaTiO3 ceramics. Because the resistance of this kind of ceramics increases sharply at the phase change temperature, if it is used as a resistance heating element, it is very convenient to automatically control the temperature near the phase change temperature.
